Community Living and the Connection to Virtue
Living in close-knit communities like co-housing arrangements or Israeli kibbutzim can foster sociological good by encouraging people to live together, help each other, and engage in practical activities. Infrastructure improvements, intentional communities, and multi-generational living can also contribute to building stronger families and reducing anxiety in children. Religion plays a significant role in promoting thriving families with many children by encouraging focus on lasting values like fate, hope, love, and gratitude. Having children can be seen as a cheat code for leading a virtuous life, as they naturally call individuals to care for others and engage in virtuous acts like clothing the naked and feeding the hungry.
