The Difference Between Cohabitation and Marriage for Kids’ Outcomes
Why is marriage crucial for a couple to stick together? Cohabitation is not the same as marriage. Cohabiting relationships are less stable and not as widespread as people might think. If cohabiting parents stayed together and acted like married parents, kids' outcomes would be the same. But unmarried parents don't do that, which leads to different outcomes for kids.
