Whenever people have given up rights and handed them over to the government, there are almost zero examples of people getting those rights back without some sort of violent, bloody revolution taking place./nInvasions of privacy happen slowly, almost unnoticed, until suddenly it's gone./nWe must remain vigilant on the privacy side of things./nThe disagreement between freedom and security has a long history, with key moments of progress in the latter half of the 20th century./nThe upsides of the surveillance state may be evident, but privacy is considered one of the most important things to protect in the world.
