The Role of Costumes in Self-Expression at Burning Man
Burning Man taught me the true value of costumes as a form of self-expression, breaking free from societal expectations. At Burning Man, costumes become a projection of who you are and how you want to interact with others. However, the perception of costumes also depends on the context and understanding of others. It's important to create a costume that is meaningful to yourself and legible to others. While some may feel trapped by societal expectations, realizing that everything we wear is an extension of our true selves allows us to embrace the freedom of costume at Burning Man.
