Exploring Progressive Judaism with an Accomplished Cantor

The cantor Michelle Lalum, originally from Belgium and raised in Australia, has an impressive background in Progressive Judaism, including studying and working in Israel, New York, and France. Michelle holds degrees in music performance, psychology, philosophy, and completed studies at orthodox Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Michelle was ordained as a cantor at the Progressive Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion and completed rabbinic studies at various institutions. Michelle's work includes collaboration with various religious groups and presenting workshops on interfaith dialogue. Despite diverse experiences, Michelle shares that they did not fully connect with Progressive Judaism but appreciates the awesomeness of the tradition.
