Options for Bipolar Depression Treatment

Generic lorazadone becoming available at a lower price is a positive development for bipolar patients, as previously available generic antipsychotics had sedation and metabolic side effects. Only five antipsychotics are FDA-approved for bipolar depression: a lansopienfloxetine combo, quatypine (seroquel), lorazadone, latuta, cariprazine (varaylar). Depression is a significant part of bipolar disorder, with a 40 to 60% prevalence rate.
