The Limitations of White Epistemology and the Supremacy of White Knowledge

In Africa, blackness is not seen as a problem nor is it defined in relation to whiteness. This contrasts with how Steven Spielberg approaches race in his films, as he can only see the story from a white perspective. The novelization of the story, written from an African-American perspective, can provide both the black and white perspectives. This highlights the limitations of white epistemology and the supremacy of white knowledge in our society. Racism is not simply a surface-level issue but deeply ingrained in our identity, knowledge, and understanding of violence. While white politicians often downplay the problem of racism, people of color know the truth. White Americans have consistently been wrong about race throughout history, yet they never acknowledge it or listen to black voices. This reveals the ongoing white supremacy in our society.
