NOTE

Why Standardised Scores Are Preferred Over Grades

Standardized scores are preferred over grades because grades assume students fit neatly into prepackaged categories, which is a distortion. Three-part grading systems, common in England up to age 11, don't accurately reflect the continuum of student attainment. Comparing it to categorizing all humans as young, middle-aged, or old is clearly distorting.
