NOTE

Great discoveries come from unexpected places

Great discoveries can come from seemingly insignificant observations. The Nobel Prize winning work of a scientist was inspired by the wobble of a spinning plate. He was intrigued by a medallion on the plate and worked out its behavior, despite its lack of apparent practical significance. This experience reminded him of the pleasure in discovering things about the world just for the sake of curiosity. It illustrates that sometimes, the most groundbreaking discoveries can stem from the most unexpected sources, even if they initially seem trivial or unimportant.
