I was working for six days a week, one day rest. We usually wake up at four o'clock at exactly five AM. The work site was one hour drive and work started at six 30. Normal working hours were from six 30 to three 30. And of course, there was a standard mandatory overtime of two hours. So we will arrive at the accommodation again at seven in the night.

The people who built Qatar’s stadiums, hotels, and transit systems were employed under the country’s exploitative migrant worker system. Officials promised things would change before the World Cup, but a one-time worker says it’s only better on paper.
