The creation of new riverkeepers following a miraculous resurrection led to the establishment of the largest water protection group globally, with 350 waterkeepers stationed worldwide. Each waterkeeper has a patrol boat to monitor local waterways in 46 countries. These waterkeepers play a crucial role in environmental protection, such as suing coal burning power plants and cement kilns for mercury discharge, as scientific studies have shown dangerous levels of mercury in freshwater fish and in one out of every six American women.
