Christine Wilson, the only Republican commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission, plans to resign.
Wilson criticized Democratic chair Lena Kahn's disregard for the rule of law in an oped published in the Wall Street Journal.
In response, Kahn created a Twitter thread praising Wilson's accomplishments, including voting against a rule to outlaw lying about whether products are made in America and taking compensation from Bristol Myers Squib.
Wilson also took issue with the commission meetings being held in public, saying they were "very partisan".
With Wilson's resignation, Biden will have to nominate two Republicans to the FTC.
Wilson's departure is seen as a good sign by the left because it shows that Kahn is not afraid to fight partisan battles.
Wilson's departure reduces her currency for future opportunities.
