Protests and the Spread of Strikes: Comparing Worker and Student Demands
The protests in 1960 spread quickly as people saw others demanding their rights and wanted the same. It started with workers in Nantes demanding better working conditions and pay. Soon, workers in other factories joined in the strikes. The workers wanted reform in factories while the students wanted a radical change in life. Though their demands were different, they united in their protests.
