The ebb and flow of a couple's sex life
Studies have shown that one of the biggest ebbs in a couple's sex life happens after having kids. However, every couple has their own unique ebbs and flows in their sex life, and it is important to normalize this. More is not always better, as we all have seasons of life where we are more or less focused on physical intimacy. A frequency survey found that there were slight declines in sexual activity as people got older, but there were still active respondents in their 70s and 80s. Ultimately, satisfaction with the amount of sexual connection is subjective and personal. Couples are encouraged to create space for physical intimacy, even if it doesn't always lead to sex, by carving out time for date nights and other intimate activities.
