For instance, Hillary Thomas Stewart, senior, lost 24 acres over an $18.83 tax bill, plunging them into poverty. The 'black tax' is a well-known phenomenon, and the seizure of 11 acres of land from Black America amounted to 326 billion in present-day currency. These actions highlight the historical injustices faced by black communities, leading to discussions around reparations.
