NOTE

Focus is the Key to Zen

Learning to achieve a state of focus, referred to as 'Jana', hinges on a simple directive: constantly focusing here. Many practitioners, especially Westerners, often complicate their practice by overanalyzing their barriers to focus and sharing personal narratives about their struggles, traumas, and aspirations. This psychological layering can impede their progress, as they tend to deviate from the core instruction to sustain focus. In contrast, practitioners from other traditions may experience a more direct path to achieving this state of concentration, experiencing challenges more acutely and ultimately benefiting from a purer approach to their practice.
