The Influence of Structure on Perception and Emotion in Human Experience
The structure within which one exists determines what manifests itself as they move through the world./nOne tends to ignore almost everything but concentrates on things that move them forward or obstacles that get in their way./nThings that move one forward or hinder their progress have emotional significance because they are conceptualized in relation to their journey./nEncountering something that helps them progress triggers positive emotions and provides hope and incentive to move forward./nEncountering something that hinders their progress triggers negative emotions./nThe motivating force for human beings to move forward in life is the positive emotions generated by progress and the negative emotions generated by obstacles.
