Main isexual connection and chemistry is one of the keys to happy and sustainable relationships. While sex often starts with a lot of variety and intensity, it can easily become a victim of being busy adults and routine. Almost none of the sex humans have ever had is reproductive. Even before there was homonal conproception, there was not a statistically significant relationship between frequency of sex and number of pregnancies. Its primary function for us as a species is as a social behavior.
