The control over AI seems to be lacking as it can be manipulated easily, and there is concern that the most powerful AI systems in the future could be as powerful as influential human figures like Elon Musk. The ease of replicating such systems poses a potential challenge. The concept of 'amplified intelligence', where humans are the ones inputting information into AI, is emphasized as a more realistic scenario than a standalone artificial intelligence.
