Waterproof vs. Water Resistant in Sunscreen

The term waterproof is no longer allowed to be used in sunscreen products because it gives a false impression of continuous protection. Sunscreen should be applied as an even film on the skin, and the term water resistant is now regulated. Water resistant sunscreen retains effectiveness for a certain period after exposure to water. It is crucial to reapply sunscreen in activities such as swimming, sweating, or hiking. The terms sun block and sun screen are no longer differentiated in the industry.
