Within Reason

NOTE

**** Misguided Approaches in trying to explain Religious Worldview & God**

In the 19th and 20th century, many religious people have embraced materialism and rationalism, losing touch with the ancient meanings of religious terms. This has led to misrepresentations of deep intuitions and misunderstanding of concepts like heaven and spirit. The insistence on interpreting religious texts like Genesis 1 as scientific has made the language of religion abhorrent to many. The inability to understand the ancient way of thinking has caused a disconnect and rendered many religious discussions ineffective. Moreover, the analytic, rationalist approach to criticize religious worldview fundamentally goes wrong by trying to describe reality as a forensic investigation, while reality operates on mechanisms of meaning and heuristics. This misinterpretation and lack of understanding have caused religious people to forget the ancient cosmologies and structures, leading to shallow comprehension of religious concepts and principles.
