Attention residue is the idea that our minds can't cleanly transition from one task to another because we always remember the previous task. It's like having remnants of the previous task in our working memory. Researcher Sophie Leroy came up with the term, and it's a common topic on the podcast. For example, during this conversation, we'll both be remembering what we talked about when we do something else after the podcast.
