Purpose Over Potential
Effective leadership hinges on clarity of purpose rather than chasing untapped potential. Acknowledging that attempting to fulfill every possibility can dilute impact, leaders should focus on their core mission. Jesus’ example highlights a balance between ambition and fulfillment—he could have accomplished more, but chose to glorify God through purposeful work. Practicing rest, as modeled in creation, emphasizes the importance of reflection and acknowledging the value of completed efforts, even if all tasks aren’t finished. Distraction from this focused approach often leads to doing multiple things poorly or sacrificing vital commitments. Understanding one's primary purpose helps in resisting the urge to pursue everything that appears beneficial.
