NOTE

Common Error in Lactate Threshold Measurements

One common error in lactate threshold measurements is starting the test at too high of a power output, especially with high-standard athletes. It is recommended to start the test at a lower intensity, such as beginning at a walk-run transition, even if unsure. By starting at a lower intensity, it allows for a gradual approach to reaching the lactate threshold without prematurely fatiguing the athlete. This approach ensures that the athlete spends minimal time in the moderate domain before crossing the threshold, optimizing the accuracy of the measurements without needing to push all the way to VO2 max levels during the test phase.
