Let's imagine that you determined that you had no interest ever in running a marathon. And so you stayed on the couch and watched, you know, television or obsessed about the news. So imagine another version of Brett who decides that you want to run a marathon. You train for it, which involves a lot of running. And you go out on that day to run the marathon. But you get injured on mile 16. And you say you have to stop running. Which feels worse. Never having tried it all or having started the marathon and having to walk away on mile 16? Well, I know my intuition would be like quitting would feel worse.
