Global Capability Centers (GCCs) have recently gained significance in India as an advanced form of outsourcing, with various sectors like pharma, energy, healthcare, automotive, semiconductor, AI, and ML utilizing these centers for functions such as IT, R&D, and HR. India has become a go-to destination for GCCs due to its highly skilled workforce proficient in English, digital skills, innovation, and new technology. The rise of GCCs has provided a lucrative market for service sector exports, contributing significantly to the economy. By 2030, GCCs are predicted to contribute 2% to India's GDP, showcasing substantial growth potential. This economic shift has also led to a surge in luxury consumerism, construction sector growth, and a boost in the hospitality industry. However, the rapid expansion of the new economy represented by GCCs contrasts starkly with the slower growth of the old economy, leading to a notable economic divergence in India, with the informal sector, agriculture, and labor force facing significant challenges in comparison to the thriving new economy.
