NOTE

Examining Protein Intake and Healthy Aging in a Large Cohort Study

A study examined the correlation between protein intake in midlife and healthy aging, defined as the absence of major chronic diseases, good mental health, and no impairment in cognitive or physical function. Among nearly 50,000 participants, only 7.6% met all criteria for healthy aging. Surprisingly, cognitive function was the aspect where most participants excelled, with 23,000 individuals having no impairment. This study sheds light on the challenges of achieving healthy aging and the importance of factors such as protein intake in midlife.
