Artificial Intelligence Still Has Room to Grow

The 2024 ARC Prize highlights a significant challenge in the field of AI, offering over $1 million in rewards to teams that can meet the ARC AGI benchmark, an intelligence test for AI systems. Despite Minds AI currently leading with a score of 43%, achieving the benchmark's requirement of 85% remains a slow process. Performance has only marginally improved from a mere 21% in 2020, illustrating that many AI systems still struggle with tasks that are relatively easy for humans. This indicates that current AI capabilities do not reflect true intelligence, revealing the limitations within the field despite ongoing advancements.
