Cancer epidemiologist Professor Helen Collins explains that there has been an unfortunate increase in the number of cancer diagnoses among young people aged 18-49, with a 20% rise observed between 1993 and 2019 in Northern Ireland. Globally, the data suggests an even larger increase, up to 80%, in low and middle income countries within the same age group.
