The motor association cortex plays a key role in learned movements, such as playing the piano, by coordinating muscle contractions in a sequenced manner. This cortex, along with the primotor cortex, stores the sequence required for executing the movement, often referred to as muscle memory. Through repeated practice, the brain refines the movement, improving coordination and performance over time.
In this full length episode, Dr Matt & Dr Mike discuss the brain! Walking through structures including the different lobes, cerebellum, brainstem, basal nuclei, hypothalamus, and more!
