Applying Physics to Complex Systems
Complex systems like spin glasses, with their ability to tunnel down to lower states, have been suggested as models for real-life systems. However, it is crucial to carefully consider which aspects of these well-studied systems can be applied to real-world complexities such as societies and economies, rather than assuming a direct applicability. A thoughtful and serious approach is necessary when drawing inspiration from physics to understand complex systems.
