Making covenants helps us build a stronger relationship with God, reducing the chances of distancing ourselves during life's challenges. Baptism, the initial covenant, involves committing to serve God, obey His commandments, and take on the name of Jesus Christ. Other aspects like bearing others' burdens are results of the covenant, not the covenant itself, reflecting the natural actions of a converted soul.
