The Netherlands is addressing recruitment challenges in the military through successful programs like Dinaar, but it is still facing a shortage of personnel with one in ten positions vacant. This issue is not unique to the Netherlands, as Europe, amid its largest war since 1945, is also struggling to attract new volunteers. Some countries are considering reinstating conscription to fill the ranks of their armed forces by registering all 18 or 19-year-olds.
