Efficacy and Duration of Zorelone in Anxiety and Depression

Zorelone has a rapid onset, providing relief within three days and is meant to be taken as a short-term two-week course. After the course, its benefits gradually decline but still surpass placebo at the four-week mark. While initially as powerful as a benzodiazepine in anxiety, its effect diminishes to that of an SSRI a month after treatment. However, in major depression trials, Zorelone's effects were notable for only a few days and then fizzled out, leading to its failure to gain approval in that indication.
