Origins and Evolution of Hatred Towards Jews
Hatred towards Jews throughout history can be traced back to the blame placed on them for the killing of Christ, which led to the perception of Jews as Christ-killers. The Catholic Church's prohibition on usury but the Jews' involvement in it resulted in Jews accumulating wealth, leading to envy and further hatred towards them. Ghettos not only restricted Jews physically but also limited their professional opportunities, causing them to engage in usury and accumulate wealth, fueling more hatred. Historical events like the Crusades targeted and almost annihilated Jews, further intensifying the animosity towards them.
