NOTE

What Are the Effects of the Waves Breaking?

Gravity waves in the atmosphere are like waves breaking on a shore. They deposit some of their energy into the atmosphere, which can affect our weather. The air is less dense as you go higher up so gravity waves increase in amplitude. Eventually they get too big and that's why they break. But do they make sounds? I would have guessed it because there is air, i eds, not space.
