Unintended Consequences of Green Movement in Germany
The Green movement in Germany heavily campaigned against nuclear power in favor of renewable solutions like wind energy. However, this led to the country no longer being able to power itself and relying heavily on coal, including buying energy from France generated by nuclear power. As a result, power became five times more expensive, Germany's reliance on fossil fuels increased, leading to deindustrialization, reliance on Putin, and increased carbon footprint. Germany now has one of the world's dirtiest energy per unit due to their ineffective policy.
