How Prior Assumptions Shape Your Visual Perception
Your perception of the world is largely determined by your prior assumptions and expectations. Surprisingly, only 5% of the information received by the visual cortex comes from the eyes, with the rest being feedback activity from other areas of the brain. This means that even with your eyes closed, you can still have a rich visual experience, like in dreams. It's like walking around in an awake dream.
