The former allocates 80-90% of the R&D budget, works on two-quarter roadmaps, and heavily engages with customers to enhance existing products. The latter, roughly 10-20% of the R&D budget, works on two to three-year timelines, plans based on future customer needs leveraging CloudFlare's resources, and aims to experiment with various ideas, with an expectation that most ideas won't materialize.
