In the technology industry, successful companies have often created strong brands as a byproduct of offering great products or services. Unlike most companies in the tech space, Apple and Airbnb have strategically focused on building their brands. Building a brand requires a deliberate approach to branding, defining what a company stands for, and telling its story effectively. Scarcity and brand go hand in hand, and it is challenging to build a brand halfway through a company's lifecycle. Many companies realize the importance of branding too late. True brands often have a polarizing effect, with people either strongly for or against them.
