As automobile design trends towards massive vehicles like trucks and SUVs, they not only dominate the market but also pose greater risks on the streets. Americans pay over $700 a month in car payments, which could instead cover the cost of micro-mobility options like e-bikes or scooters. With the advancement in micro-mobility technology, compact vehicles may become a preferred choice over larger cars. This shift in transportation could also lead to repurposing parking garages into more human-friendly spaces.

What if we didn’t need cars? Janette Sadik-Khan, former Commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation, helped revolutionize some of New York’s most famous streets into navigable, car-free areas.
