Deleuze Versus Agamben on Creativity and Resistance
Acid Horizon
Exploration of Art, Resistance, and Impotentiality
Art embodies impotentiality, not necessarily linked to genius or aesthetic judgment. Agamben views art as preserving an element of existence through small resistances. Resistance in art is an internal aspect of creation, expressing impotentiality and impacting the artist's happiness. The ethos of human inoperativity is evident in the work of artists. Delos, according to Agamben, challenges a metaphysics enabling a politics of human utility by decentralizing and destituting core concepts. This unsettling idea challenges Marxism, humanism, and conservatism by rejecting human beings as mere agents of labor. Art serves as an ethical stance against human labor, offering alternative worldviews that can discomfort or enlighten viewers, going beyond conventional ideologies and perceptions.
