What is the threshold for feature teams?
The concept of a threshold value is introduced for feature teams, indicating the point at which a specialized resource should be assigned to a team based on their level of need. The threshold value varies for each company and is not about keeping people 100% utilized. It is highlighted that if a resource is needed 100% of the time, such as a lawyer, they should be assigned to the team. However, as the need decreases below 100%, questions arise about when to assign the resource - whether at 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, or lower. The decision on crossing the threshold is crucial as allocating a full-time resource when they are only needed part-time may not be economically feasible and viable for the team.
