The figure of the fairy still exists in our culture without understanding its lineage, indicating the persistence of folklore. Despite identifying fairies, there is a recognition of other kinds of fairies. Folklore persists more than assumed, as seen through a child's application of learned concepts to the world, like attributing a hole under a tree to be a fox's underground house.
