Throughout history, certain units of media have reoccurred repeatedly despite going in and out of fashion. For instance, aphorisms were commonly used by writers and philosophers like Nietzsche in the past, then faded out only to be revitalized through Twitter. Similarly, essays were prevalent in older literature, transitioned into academic obscurity, and made a comeback through blog posts. Poetry was once viewed as a niche interest until hip hop made it mainstream. These literary forms have proven to be timeless and have found a contemporary platform on the internet, which serves as a meta medium encompassing all prior forms of artistic expression.

Marc Andreessen deserves a place on the Mount Rushmore of Silicon Valley. His presence in the tech space is unprecedented and he's one of the most prolific investors. The world of online writing is in debt to him.

He co-founded Netscape, where he created the first popular web browser. He invented the tweetstorm, and has helped form the internet. He coined the idea “software is eating the world”, which has defined humanity's evolution over the last decade.
