The Rough Cut

NOTE

Pacing challenges in a three-hour biopic adaptation

Pacing was a challenge in creating a three-hour biopic based on a massive book. Earlier drafts felt too fast, even though the movie was already long. Finding the balance between not rushing the audience and not making it a four-hour movie was tough. Cutting out 25 minutes was difficult in this type of film. The goal was to make people feel connected to the characters and the journey, despite the quick pacing. It was important for the audience to be able to absorb all the information.
