NOTE

Successful startups have to be non-consensus & backcasted (not forecasted)

For startups to succeed, they must have a unique and non-consensus idea that resonates deeply with a subset of people while being seen as radical or even controversial by the majority. Great startups distinguish themselves by backcasting - envisioning radically different futures and working backward from there, rather than forecasting the future based on the present. To build a successful startup, founders need to attract early believers who share their vision and are willing to co-create the future together, eventually turning what was once considered heretical into conventional wisdom as more people see its value.
