Exploring the Relationship Between Information and Entropy
Information is not inherent in data; it becomes information when used to make accurate predictions about a system. Useless information is equivalent to entropy. Information and entropy are shared through mutual entropy, where correlations between two systems are what define the information shared between them. Mutual information and mutual entropy are essentially the same concept, and it would be more accurate to refer to it simply as information.
