NOTE

**Omega 3 anti-depressant effects **

The intake of at least one gram of EPA per day has clear anti-depressant effects, supported by numerous clinical trials. Increasing omega three intake can lower the need for antidepressants and even allow some individuals to reduce their antidepressant dosage. Omega three, specifically EPA, has a two-pronged mechanism of action: it is a fundamental structural component of neuronal membranes and affects the release of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. Additionally, EPA affects the gut's neuroendocrine cells, which sense nutrients and signal the brain via the vagus nerve. This subconscious signaling from the gut to the brain helps regulate dopamine levels in response to the types of nutrients entering the body.
