Correlation between Extroversion and Openness in Personality Traits
Research on personality traits such as extroversion and openness has shown a strong correlation between the two. This concept originated from the Greek temperaments and was later refined by social scientists and psychologists in the 18th and 19th centuries. Carl Jung identified the big five personality traits - openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Among these traits, extroversion and openness are found to be highly correlated. Openness is often associated with neophilia, which represents an inclination towards new experiences.
